  2. I had problems viewing/hearing Matt’s Livestream home coming event. Was it recorded; and if so, will it be available to view on demand?

  6. Thanks to T2PTV for the livestream coverage of Matt’s “Welcome Home” and his first steps off of St. Brendan and onto the dock! I have to tell you, though, that as soon as I heard “It’s a Small World” I just sobbed! It may have been real relief that he was finally back home, safe and sound . . . . but, actually he was “home” after crossing over the Chesapeake Tunnel . . . so, I’m not sure what it was that triggered the tears, but it certainly brought out a flood of emotion!! I guess I didn’t really feel he was “home” until he pulled up to the dock! I don’t know if anyone else watching the livestream had the same experience or not, I’d be curious to know. At any rate, the timing of “It’s a Small World” was perfect, and, a big thank you, to whoever thought of it!!
    “Congratulations” . . . again, to Matt for the wonderful journey he took us all on, and we wish him well, and a long and healthy life, with lots of opportunities to do what he loves best . . . SAIL!!! And, I honestly hope that he will set up his own blog page so that we can stay in touch with him!!! Maybe Mike McLinn will help him do that so that we can follow his next adventure, and the next!!
    I know that Matt’s writing a book, and as far as I’m concerned, using the updates he’s already written is the perfect way to start!
    Write more, if you want, Matt, but I know that what you have already shared in your journal/updates should ALL be included as well! I’m sure there will be thousands who will read the finished book, that haven’t had the benefit of reading these updates and so they would miss out on all the wonderful thoughts you expressed as you encountered various challenges, or were amazed at the beauty of the Northwest Passage!! You’re thoughts, as you experienced so much, are important for the readers to feel that they’re sailing along with you!!
    Good luck with all your future ventures, Matt!!! Will be watching for the documentary and the book!!!

  7. It was super cool being there today! My daughter and I came down and staked out a front row spot to see Matt (who, she declared, to be super cute!)My daughter said that even though Taylor Swift will always be her number 1- Matt is a reeeeally close #2(big ups from the
    9 year old crowd!)

    Favorite moments – Matt saying he’d be rocking after some beers… and. Calling Senator Harkin by his first name. My family and I will be coming out to CRAB’s monthly open sail and will continue to support and championCRAB. Thank you, Matt, it’s been an adventure!

      WE WERE THANKFUL TO BE ABLE TO WATCH VIA THE LIVESTREAM, BUT THE VIDEO WE WERE GETTING WAS NOT REAL CLEAR, AND UNDER THE “TENT” WE COULD’NT REALLY SEE MATT, OR THE PRESENTERS, VERY WELL BECAUSE THERE WASN’T ENOUGH LIGHT!!     2. Rosana, a comment by Andre9s:Rosana hihlgihgts some of the main elements that residents have mentioned in the workshops that we did last week in Hamar on the topic of Public Space and People. She stresses the importance of giving the square a new centrality, or rather recuperating the one it once had, by stressing its protagonist role as an main access to the city. Stortorget use to be the place in which people will access to the city at least those who came by road or to the market place that make of the square a place of exchange for decades. Rosana remarks the potential of articulating the different public spaces, that as mentioned several times in the online workshop Public Space and People should had been tackled together in form of strategic planning for the whole city centre, instead of making it in different pieces, at least with the square and its immediate surroundings, some of them of great importance for the cityb4s image and aperture to the lake. This is Rosana mainb4s emphasis on the project specially through the intervention in the elimination or regulation of traffic in Storhamargata, the street that its a road that separates the square from the lake, just in front of the Bazaar where Ecosistema Urbano has its headquarters. This intervention has been suggested or even demanded by different groups of residents in the onsite workshops that we have developed last week in Hamar. The same appeals to the proposal of articulating Torgatta, the business street in Hamar, with the square in a more dynamic way. As Rosana points out it is not so much a matter of physical interventions but rather to define an attractive program to the city through which residents and visitors of different types (local, regional o national, and why not foreign tourists) would use and enjoy the street. The only way to achieve it is through participation and the special bonds that are being established with the local stake holders by Ecosistema Urbano but also with an international virtual community that can provide ideas and a vision complementary to the one of residents.

  12. Dear Matt thank you for being a hero that my son can look up to. My son Zefram Cochrane is 7 years old. He has ADHD and a disability that affects his handwriting that runs in the family. He is so talented and wants to be an inventor someday. I keep telling him that he can do anything that he can dream. We read about people like Thomas Edison all the time but it is nice to have a modern day person that is just like him doing the impossible. We watched your feed and it fascinated him and made him smile. Thank you. Welcome home and Congratulations!
